A Pulling Touchdown

Quick post to record a dream I had the other night.

It was like watching a movie, except I was in the movie...observing myself externally. I was on a football team that was performing very terribly. Our poor record was due to the quarterback's inability to throw the football accurately to the receivers. Our morale was low and we were the laughingstock of the league. That is until someone came up with an idea.

The idea was to tie one end of a string to the football and the other end to the quarterback's wrist. When the QB would throw the ball way off target he would then use his connection to the flying ball (now this is only possible cuz it was a dream) to pull the string and guide the ball down to the receiver.

This worked so well, that eventually someone got the idea to tie strings to the receivers' ankles as well so that when they jumped, someone on the ground could grab the string and guide them into the endzone while they were in the air.

This approach was extremely successful and the movie went on to become a come-back story centered around our team's innovation that, though they tried, was so novel that no other team could quite duplicate our results. We went on the dominate the league and win the championship.

The funny part of the dream, through, is that, whenever someone was pulled into the endzone, our team would break out in our patented cheer "A pull-ing touch-down, A PULL-ing TOUCH-down." You have to hear it to really get the idea. Soon, our fans started repeating the cheer, so every time we scored by pulling a receiver's ankle strings we'd hear a resounding round of "A pull-ing touch-down, a PULL-ing TOUCH-down!"

I woke up with this song in my head while I showered and was eventually able to recall the whole dream.

Funkadelic!
